United Way of Southwest Alabama

2021 Heart of Gold Community Volunteer Awards

Nomination Guidelines for Choctaw, Clarke, and Washington Counties

Deadline is Friday, May 14, 2021

Overview

The engagement of the hundreds of individuals who volunteer with us each year is critical to the success of both United Way of Southwest Alabama (UWSWA) and its 46 partner agencies.  The work of these volunteers is vital to the success of the programs and services that address our communities’ needs.

In 2021, UWSWA is proud to honor its volunteers with the Heart of Gold Award, which recognizes up to four volunteers in each of the four UWSWA counties—Choctaw, Clarke, Mobile, and Washington—for their dedication and service.

Up to four volunteers (an individual, agency, or company) in each of UWSWA’s counties may be recognized for their community service at their county’s 2021 Campaign Kickoff, as well as, at UWSWA’s Annual Meeting.

Eligibility

  • Nominee volunteer activities must include, but are not limited to, a connection with United Way of Southwest Alabama via one of its partner agencies, programs, collaboration, or outreach efforts
  • Nominees may not have been selected as a winner in the prior three years
